hey there!

I’m Daria-Your Diabetes Dietitian

My goal is to simplify your journey with diabetes so that you can live a vibrant, nourished life

(without the fad diets or BS)!

My Story + Approach

I’ve always wanted to help people. When I was 5 I ran around saying “I’m going to be a doctor one day”. I would even pretend that my teddy bear’s leg was broken so that I could wrap it and “fix” it.

While exploring the route to becoming a doctor in college, I learned that doctors only receive 20 hours or less of nutrition education – yikes! I decided to pivot and switch my major to kinesiology. Some of my courses introduced me to nutrition, and I even found myself Googling answers to my own personal nutrition questions (which I now know isn’t always helpful!). That’s when I knew I wanted to become a Registered Dietitian and help people with food!

Why a Diabetes Dietitian, though?

I started my career in nutrition in an acute rehab facility as a clinical dietitian. I worked with thousands of patients with uncontrolled diabetes who suffered from kidney failure, severe non-healing diabetes-related wounds, and even amputations. When I asked them if they had ever received diabetes education or knew anything about nutrition for diabetes, the answer was always “no”.

This was extremely alarming… I had the knowledge to help these patients, but with so little time in the hospital to teach them, I was left wondering… how can I help more people access this valuable information?

Thus, Nourished with Daria was born!

As a diabetes dietitian online, I strive to provide accurate and reliable health education for diabetes nutrition and wellness. Having a diagnosis of diabetes is hard enough; finding trustworthy information shouldn’t be difficult, and it certainly shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg.

Take a deep breath. You are not alone in this, and I am here to help.

I’m passionate about diabetes nutrition and wellness and aim to share that through free, affordable resources and simple, actionable tips to support your diabetes journey.

Diabetes is not a “death-sentence”. But, it is not something we can fix overnight.

With the help of my page and resources, we can make living with diabetes a little bit easier.
